Welcome
Welcome to my new and hopefully improved website which includes this blog. I plan to keep you informed as I did in the past about my newest discoveries regarding wine, food and travel. I will also share with you my adventures in the world of organoleptic sensations as well as discuss those individuals who enrich our tastebuds with their recipes, mixes and writings.
Viva Los Cabos
My wife, Darlene and I shared a marvellous and relaxing meal at the newest addition to Whitby's restaurant scene. Los Cabos is aptly named for its Mexican/Californian cuisine. Seemingly designed to reflect the type of eatery found in many vacation spots, it not only achieves this goal but surpasses it in quality of friendliness, service and quality of food----not to mention the fine patio setting where we sat.
Being a burger fiend, I demand the utmost in my burgers. My "Big Kahuna"-----8 oz of home made burger complete with bacon and avocado----fullfilled my lust for meat! Darlene had Chicken Enchiladas with refried beans with all the trimmings. I was enjoying my burger almost too much when she offered me a taste. I managed to place the huge hunk down and reluctanly tasted her offering and was immediately captivated by the flavour. Normally, I like what I'm eating and do not enjoy breaking my "food" concentration.
Looking around me I saw nothing but satisfied and happy faces of many enjoying delicious salads, imaginative soups and great entres. The warm breeze blowing against our faces, the laughter and relaxation gave a "resort vacation" feeling to the whole experience. I certainly will be back to try many more of the menu and invite you all to go on a discovery of your own by visiting this new Whitby gem! Owners Darrren and Shelagh Pirkl truly have opened a new haven!
